Travel Information

Travel to Namibia by Air:

Via Europe & Middle East:

  • Direct flights are operated from Frankfurt to Windhoek on the National carrier, Air Namibia.
  • Direct flight flights from Munic and Frankfurt are operated by Condor Airways.
  • Quatar Airways operates flights from Doha direct to Windhoek and from Doha to Windhoek via Johannesburg.
  • KLM and Ethiopian Airlines have flights from Amsterdam and Addis Abiba respectively.
Via South Africa:
  • Connecting flights from Johannesburg to Windhoek are operated by Air Namibia, South African Airways, South African Express and British Airways.
  • Connecting flights from Cape Town to Windhoek are operated by Air Namibia and South African Airways.
Please consult your travel agent on routing. You are welcome to contact our registrar for help.


Hotel Accommodation:

Please note that the months of June-August and December-January is ‘High Season’ in Namibia and it is advisable to make early bookings.

The following hotels are suggested for conference delegates (Click on links for more information).
  • Arebbusch Travel Lodge - 5 min drive from Conference venue.
  • Auas City Lodge - 15 min drive from Conference venue.
  • Hotel Safari - 7 min drive from Conference venue.
  • Safari Court Hotel - 7 min drive from Conference venue.
Please arrange your own bookings directly with the hotel / pensions. You are welcome to make use of other accommodation.


Airport Transfers:

Airport transfers will be provided for all delegates arriving by air.
Please provide the registrar with the following details once your registration has been confirmed and you have purchased your air tickets:
  • Date of arrival;
  • Flight number;
  • Time of arrival;
  • Names of delegates arriving on flight
  • Hotel at which you are staying.

Car Hire:

Avis Rent a Car, Budget, Europe Car and Hertz Car rental all have representatives at Hosea Kutako International Airport.
